01 · Main Menu — Event Active State
Based on the new Chess Arena home screen design. Adds Faction War to the top nav, coin wallet to the top right, consolidated standings + personal info card, and a 4-quest daily quest panel on the right.
ARENA

- FACTION WAR tab — appears in nav with subtle gold tint + live pulse dot. Visible but not aggressive. Click to open the dedicated event hub (screens 03-05).
- Coin wallet — top right, next to existing icons. Gold border draws the eye but doesn't dominate. Shows event-specific currency only — base currencies live elsewhere.
- Consolidated standings card — combines weekly faction standings AND your personal info (faction, faction rank, faction points). The "your faction" banner sits on top with its own azure tint; the standings list is below. Pulled "coins" / "coin multiplier" out per feedback — the wallet handles coins now, the multiplier is implied by your rank.
- Daily quests panel · 4 quests:
- 1 Faction quest (magenta accent) — collective goal, pinned to top
- 1 Streamer bounty (purple/Twitch accent) — chat-voted
- 1 Individual quest
- 1 Passive / drops (shown as complete)
- Stream card on left — slot 3 of the existing left column becomes "samet_chess Live · Crimson" with a "Watch + Join Lobby" CTA. Repurposes the existing Alex Botez card slot. The watch+join action is the highest-leverage stream→game conversion surface.
02 · Faction Picker (Onboarding)
Full-screen takeover when the player first enters during an active season. Inspired by Fortnite-style faction picker — visuals carry the identity, no flavor text needed.

- Removed per feedback: header eyebrow, faction tags ("The Order/Court/etc."), subtitles ("Champions of X"), flavor text, % of players
- Faction name is the only typography in each square (single word — Crimson / Azure / Violet / Verdant). "Vanguard / Order / Court / Pact" naming dropped from the picker visual to keep it clean — kept in copy elsewhere.
- Sigil moved to top-LEFT corner · no balance / underdog tags shown · center reserved for proper illustrated faction art (placeholder shown as dashed area)
- Champions row labeled "Champions" · LG pfps · real Twitch profile pictures will swap in when the subagent returns the URLs (currently using gradient placeholders)
- Status pills (Stacked / Balanced / Underdog ×1.3) — soft-balancing UI
- "Your Faction" gold badge = direct equivalent of Fortnite's "MY FACTION" tag
- Inside the chosen card: art on the left, name + Champions (XL pfps) + CTA stacked on the right
- Other factions remain visible at smaller scale → reinforces "your team / their teams" narrative without hiding the rivals
- Welcome pack details (coins, nameplate, catch-up boost) deferred to a separate intro toast/screen — kept the picker visual clean
04 · Faction Store
Where Faction War coins are spent. Cosmetics-only for v1 — paid Faction Packs / monetization will be designed in a separate pass. Some items are gated behind faction reputation tier.
- Reputation-tier locks (gold gate · "Requires Champion") — gates items behind your personal reputation. Each tier unlocks at a threshold (Soldier 1,500 / Officer 3,500 / Champion 6,000 / Legend 10,000). Personal grind motivator.
- Faction-milestone locks (purple gate · "Win a week", "Faction · 2M pts", "Win season") — gates items behind collective faction achievements. Achieved milestones flip to a green check + the item becomes purchasable. This is the "team accomplishment" motivator and creates social pressure to contribute.
- Mystery weekly drops (gold "Wk N" pill · "?" art) — future cosmetics revealed live every Monday. Builds anticipation and gives players a reason to return at week roll-over even if they don't have coins to spend yet.
Open question: milestone-locked items — does the player still need to spend coins after the milestone is achieved (current design), or does the milestone itself unlock the item for free? Recommendation = still cost coins (preserves the coin economy), but reduce price by ~30% post-unlock so the milestone feels like a meaningful discount.
Open question: coin expiration — convert to base currency post-event, or hard-expire? Recommendation = convert at a discounted rate (e.g. 10:1) so players who hoarded don't feel betrayed but late spending is still incentivized.
03 · Faction War Hub
The dedicated event page. 6 tabs: Factions (this season's 4 with champions, same UI as the picker), Calendar (with merged tournament/league), Weekly Rewards, Leaderboards, Faction Store, and How It Works.

Reputation = total faction points you've earned, all season. It persists across weeks. Faction points reset Sunday at midnight.
Higher reputation = better weekly chest (more coins, better cosmetic rolls). Some Faction Store items unlock at specific reputation tiers.
Switching factions resets your reputation to zero.

How It Works
A 6-week, 4-faction tournament. Pick a side, earn points, climb your faction's leaderboard, and win cosmetics for you and your team.
You're locked to that faction for the season. Switching mid-season is allowed once but it wipes your reputation. Champions (top creators) lead each faction.
Win matches, finish quests, watch creator streams. Every point you earn rolls up into your faction's weekly total. Resets to zero every Sunday midnight.
Your cumulative points become Reputation: Recruit → Soldier → Officer → Champion → Legend. Reputation persists across weeks and unlocks higher-tier Store items.
The faction with the most points each week earns a victory milestone, a faction-wide cosmetic, and bragging rights on the league standings.
The top 40 players in each faction qualify for the weekend tournament. The bracket lives on the Calendar tab. Tournament wins push your faction's weekly score.
Faction War Coins drop from quests, matches, and the weekly chest. Spend them on cosmetics. Three lock types: reputation tier, faction milestones, and mystery weekly drops.
Faction Points reset every Sunday — they decide the weekly winner. Reputation is cumulative and stays with you all season, unlocking better chest rewards and Store items.
Spend before week 6 ends. Unspent coins convert to base currency at a discount — don't hoard.
Allowed once per season. Wipes your Reputation tier and resets your weekly Faction Points contribution. Use it carefully.
- Tab 1 · Factions — same UI as the picker pick state (2x2 grid · sigil + art placeholder + faction name + champions). Azure has a "Your Faction" pip + glow. CTAs are hidden in the embed since switching is gated to the Week Summary screen.
- Tab 2 · Calendar — 6-week season strip + running league standings. Weekend tournaments live here (no separate bracket page). Past weeks are clickable for tournament results.
- Tab 3 · Weekly Rewards — chest + countdown to end of week. Reputation tier + ladder. Clear messaging that reputation persists across weeks but resets if you switch factions.
- Tab 4 · Leaderboards — one sub-tab per faction (Crimson · Azure · Violet · Verdant) plus an All view. Each board shows player rank, reputation tier badge (Recruit / Soldier / Officer / Champion / Legend), and faction points. Top 40 per faction qualify for the weekend tournament — drawn as a glowing dashed cutoff line between #40 and #41.
- Tab 5 · Faction Store — where Faction War Coins are spent. Three lock dimensions: reputation tier (personal grind), faction milestones (team accomplishment), and mystery weekly drops (FOMO/anticipation). Coin balance + season expiration shown at the top.
- Tab 6 · How It Works — onboarding/reference for the event. 6-step explainer (pick a faction → earn points → climb rank → win the week → weekend tournament → spend in store) plus three callouts (points vs reputation, coin expiration, switching factions). Designed as a permanent landing for new players and a refresher for returning ones.
Reputation system: Faction Points are earned weekly (reset Sunday midnight); cumulative total = your Faction Reputation. Reputation determines weekly chest quality + unlocks tier-gated Faction Store items. Switching factions wipes reputation.
05 · End-of-Week Summary
Triggered once per week. Dramatic reveal of the week's winning faction, your faction's rank, and your chest. The only place to switch factions (warnings live on the next screen).
- Reveal — "WEEK 2 COMPLETE" + winner faction reveal + faction rankings (no league points, no dates)
- Reward — one big visual chest. Label = "[Rank N] [Tier] Chest". The faction-rank component (1–4) does the work that the old "faction-result bonus" used to. Contents are not shown — that's the open-the-chest moment.
- Decide — Open Chest (primary) or Switch Faction (secondary). No warnings on this screen — the switch flow opens a follow-up screen with the reputation-loss confirmation.
Design intent on the switch: this is the only place a player can switch factions. Keeping warnings on a follow-up screen lets the summary stay clean and dramatic, while still preserving the gravity of the choice on the next step.
Open question: if the player closes the game without claiming, does the chest auto-deposit to inventory? Recommend YES — never punish closing the app. Explicit "Open Chest" button just unlocks the open-the-chest animation.
